GUJRANWALA, June 9: The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) teams have started inspection of domestic, industrial and commercial connections throughout the region to plug any leakage and check theft. The officials have caught many consumers red-handed while stealing gas in and around the city and severed their connections.

This was said by SNGPL regional manager Nazir Ahmad at a briefing here on Thursday.

He said the company received a number of complaints of gas leakage and theft from consumers. He said heavy detection bills were being issued to gas thieves.

The regional manager said the teams were repairing defective pipelines and loose joints. He said action would be taken against corrupt and inefficient officials of the company if they were found involved in gas theft cases.
