NAROWAL: At least 15 people were injured in a brawl between relatives of a private ambulance driver and security crew of DHQ hospital here on Monday.

Reports said ambulance driver Muhammad Tariq was getting a patient seated outside the emergency ward when the hospital guard asked him to move the vehicle instantly.

A quarrel erupted when the guard along with his colleagues allegedly thrashed the driver. Later, the driver’s relatives armed with clubs came there and attacked the guard. In the meantime, all guards of the hospital reached there and a brawl ensued, leaving 15 people injured.

Some of the injured identified as Adeel Khan, Basharat Ali, Muhammad Iqbal and Pervez were provided with first aid at the hospital.

Medical Superintendent Dr Muhammad Younus informed the city police which took four people from both sides into custody. Further investigation is under way.
