FAISALABAD, June 8: Scores of lawyers took out a rally here on Wednesday to express their resentment over alleged sacrilege of the Holy Quran by the US forces. Led by District Bar Association President Saleem Jehangir Chattha, the protesters marched through various city roads and demonstrated outside the district courts.

Holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the US administration, they urged the Pakistan government to lodge a strong protest with the Bush administration and force it to tender an apology.

SHEIKHUPURA: On the call of the Pakistan Bar Council, the district bar association will observe a complete strike on Thursday (today) against the issue.

Lawyers at the district and tehsil levels would boycott the court proceedings while wearing black armbands. Rallies and demonstrations will be the main feature of the protest.
