LAKKI MARWAT: A teenage boy was wounded in an acid attack while a man was killed over a land dispute in Tajori town, police said on Sunday.

They identified the acid attack victim as Mohammad Idrees and said the incident occurred in Mohallah Adeenkhel.

The injured told police that when he and his brother, Syed Rehman were going home in Mohallah Adeenkhel from Tajori Bazaar three unidentified persons riding a motorcycle appeared and one of them threw acid on him. He maintained that he received severe burns on face and chest while the motorcyclists fled the scene.

The incident shocked the locals as it was the first attack of its kind in the district.

The motive behind the attack is not clear as the victim has no enmity with anyone, the police said quoting the victim.

The victim was rushed to a hospital in Tajori town wherefrom he was referred to Bannu, and later to a hospital in Peshawar.

Police said they had registered a case against unknown attackers and began efforts to trace them.

Separately, a man was killed over a land dispute in Tajori town. Complainant Naeemullah told police that his uncle was gunned down when he was going to a mosque to offer morning prayers.

He said the attacker, Qamar Zaman, fled the scene.

Police registered a case and began investigations.
