PESHAWAR: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company has announced five-hour power suspension from 7am to 12 noon in various localities of Peshawar for maintenance work on transmission lines on August 5.

According to a Pesco statement issued here on Wednesday, the power suspension will cause inconvenience to the consumers of Qissa Khwani, Karimpura, CAA, PAF, MES, Mall Road, Sunehri Masjid Road, Saddar Road, Kohati Gate, Chowk Yadgar, Dabgari, Shuba, Kakshal, LRH, Fort Jail, Kacha Ghari, Hayatabad-2, Radio Pakistan, NHA and Karkhano area.

Meanwhile, Pesco urged its customers in view of monsoon rains to adopt precautionary measures to avoid electrocution and electric shocks so that human lives and property could be secured.

These safety measures, it said, included replacing or taping all worn out wires and avoiding touching electrical appliances/cables with wet hands.

The people were asked to take extra care while using water pumps and other electric appliances and avoid tying up their pets and livestock with the power poles and towers.

The women were advised to avoid use of metal wires for drying clothes and not to touch the washing machine with wet hands without switching it off.

The people were asked to inform the nearest Pesco offices in case of any damaged cable or pole immediately.
