TAXILA: A man allegedly murdered a woman who did not want to marry him, and injured two others, in Kohsar Colony on Saturday.

Police sources quoted the family of the victim as saying that the suspect wanted to marry Rashida Bibi, 22, but she chose to marry someone else.

She was travelling in a motorcycle rickshaw on Saturday when the suspect and his friend intercepted her on a street in Kohsar Colony, in the Taxila police area, and opened fire.

The rickshaw driver, Tanveer Ahmed, and a passerby identified as Mustafa Khan also received multiple bullet injuries.

The injured were moved to a local hospital where Rashida died, while the two others were shifted to the Rawalpindi District Headquarters Hospital due to their critical condition.

Taxila police have registered a case against the nominated suspects and begun investigating.
