PTM leader Mohsin Dawar, who was contesting as an independent after the movement decided to stay away from electoral politics, has won from NA-48 Tribal Area-IX ( North Waziristan).
According to the photos of Form 47 he uploaded on Twitter, he received 16,496 votes against MMA candidate 15,352.
Both sides accuse the other of violating the truce that was supposed to halt the conflict in April, yet neither appears willing to abandon negotiations altogether.
Though the JAAC’s demands are open to scrutiny, banning any political organisation — as long as it remains committed to peaceful activism — is undemocratic.
