Trump warns Iran to 'never, ever threaten the United States again'

President Donald Trump on Sunday warned Iran of consequences “the likes of which few throughout history have ever suffered,” if it threatens the United States (US).

“NEVER, EVER THREATEN THE UNITED STATES AGAIN OR YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE,” he said on Twitter, writing the entire message in capital letters.

“WE ARE NO LONGER A COUNTRY THAT WILL STAND FOR YOUR DEMENTED WORDS OF VIOLENCE & DEATH. BE CAUTIOUS!” Trump said, in a direct message to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.

The response came after Rouhani earlier Sunday issued his own warning to the US leader not to “play with the lion's tail,” saying that conflict with Iran would be the “mother of all wars”.

The high-stakes verbal sparring is reminiscent of the exchanges Trump had last year with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, before tensions eased and the two leaders met this year in an historic summit.

Trump has made Iran a favourite target since his unexpected rapprochement with nuclear-armed North Korea.

Iran is an oil producing nation, it will have negligible affect, rather it will gain on rise of oil prices internationally. While the West including US will have to pay more, on every increase in oil prices. Such exchange of twtitters will certainly raise tensions, as well as oil prices. Iran must refrain from rhetoric statements against US which was once best friend of Iran, Iran must forward hand for friendship and new era of relations, and come out of seclusion. A best foreign policy approach always prefer good bilateral mutually beneficial actions, and relations with all big powers, and Iran just cannot afford to have continued bad relations with US, for the sake of peace in region, both Iran & US have global obligations to remain at peace, and promote peace and harmony, instead taunts and threats.

@daanish You can add Iraq & Syria too, which US is still fighting (while world including China, Russia, India, even Saudis/Pakistan is progressing). Let's see if Trump is foolish enough to follow through. He may getting some meat to feel good from Iran leaders especially when is under attack at home. N. Korea has shut him up, but Iran may be different since it is standing up loudly and is Muslim country, but still everyone knows it is not going to be simple, nobody will support it and US will end up bankrupt.

Koreans were under tremendous pressure to talk to US and that showed in the tweets sent by trump just before peace talk between two countries. There must be something happened in Korea which is not known openly...Trump is successfully clearing all its enemies,,,look at China there are under tremendous pressure now...and if we is threatening Iran...I am sure he has those backup plans...and mind it he is not doing this to please US citizen...looking at his popularity in US at the moment he is coming next term as well...so beware he is a dangerous guy..
