KARACHI: The Sindh High Court has issued a contempt of court notice to senior officials of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on an application filed by the Shaheen Air International (SAI) and directed them to appear before the court on July 31.

According to the court’s notice, the alleged contemnors are CAA’s Director General G. Hussain Baig, Additional Director General retired Air Marshal Usaid-ur-Rehman and CAA’s manager at Lahore airport Tahir Sikander.

The notice says the SAI has submitted an application under Order 39 Rule 1 & 2 CPC, read with Section 151 CPC. It reads: “It is ordered that you, the above-named defendants are hereby restrained from taking any ‘adverse action’ and the operation of letter dated July 19, 2018 shall also remain suspended; however, subject to payment of outstanding amount in instalments as per order dated July 16, 2018 as per above order.”
