LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Dr Tahirul Qadri alleges that the incarcerated “convicted party” is using its ill-gotten wealth to weaken the armed forces and divide the judiciary.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, he said the judiciary was targeted and attempts were made to weaken it as an institution whenever it delivered verdicts against PML-N head Nawaz Sharif. It was now doling out its plundered wealth to target the judiciary as well as armed forces, he said.

He said had the elections been held after completing the accountability process, as per demand of PAT, the plunderers would not have dared to raise a finger at the institutions.

He regretted that dozens of candidates wanted in serious cases were in the electoral race.

The PAT chief requested the chief justice of Pakistan to take notice of the allegations raised by a senior judge against his own institution as well as the security agencies and investigate the case at the earliest.
