LAHORE: Wapda’s Irfan Saeed and Mahoor Shahzad won their respective men’s and women’s singles finals while the department also won the doubles titles in both gender categories at the National Ranking Badminton Tournament in Quetta on Thursday.

In all four finals, Wapda players came up against National Bank of Pakistan players.

Irfan defeated Murad Ali in the men’s singles final 21-18, 21-14. Mahoor, however, stretched to three sets to beat Palwasha Bashir 21-16, 19-21, 21-12.

Results:

Men’s single final: Irfan Saeed (Wapda) beat Murad Ali (NBP) by 21-18, 21-14.

Women’s singles final: Mahoor Shahzad (Wapda) beat Palwasha Bashir (NBP) by 21-16, 19-21, 21-12.

Men’s Doubles Finals:

Irfan Saeed-Azeem Sarwar (Wapda) beat Attique-Raja Hasnain (Wapda) by 21-13, 21-23, 21-15.

Women Doubles Final:

Saima Waqas (Wapda)-Ghazala Siddique beat Sara Mohmand (NBP) by 21-14, 21-17.
