KARACHI: The National Accountability Bureau on Wednesday informed the Supreme Court that another corruption reference against former inspector general of Sindh police Ghulam Haider Jamali and around 15 others would be filed within 15 days.

When a matter about alleged corruption in the Sindh police funds came up for hearing before a three-judge bench of the apex court headed by Justice Mushir Alam on Wednesday, NAB officials informed the bench that a second reference against the former provincial police officer and others was being finalised pertaining to misappropriation of funds and would be filed before the accountability court within 15 days.

They further said that former assistant inspector general (finance) Syed Fida Hussain Shah, ex-AIG (logistics) Tanveer Ahmed Tahir, another former AIG (logistics) Kamran Rashid, ex-AIG Faisal Bashir Memon and around 10 other officials had also been named accused in the reference. They added that the competent authority (NAB chairman) had already approved the reference.

NAB had filed a corruption reference against the former IGP Sindh and other police officials last year for allegedly making illegal appointments.
