MIRPURKHAS: Supporting the demand of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) for establishment of administrative units in the province, Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) and Pakistan Muslim League Functional (PML-F) leader Pir Sadruddin Shah Rashdi has said it would benefit Sindh.

It did not mean that “we are going to divide Sindh and Karachi”, he said, adding that in many foreign countries, administrative units were set up to run the system in a smooth manner.

He said the units might be set up on the basis of two-third majority under the Constitution, but the division of Sindh would not be allowed and it would remain intact within its present geographical territory.

He announced that independent candidate Syed Ali Nawaz Shah was contesting from NA-218 (Mirpurkhas) and PS-48; he had complete support of the GDA while the alliance was supporting the MQM-P candidate at PS-47 (Mirpurkhas).

He said the GDA was formed to defeat the PPP and ‘Zardari league’ in the province because they had devastated Sindh during its past decade-long tenure.
