SHANGLA: A former nazim and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf local leader died and three others were injured when their vehicle fell into a gorge during the party’s election campaign at Martung Shangla here on Monday.

Police said a car on way to a public meeting met the fatal accident in Dawra Sar area. As a result, former nazim Nasirullah of Maira Martung and three other people got critical injuries. The PTI activist succumbed to injuries on way to the tehsil headquarters hospital, Puran. The other injured were hospitalised. The injured were identified as Sher Ali, Altaf Khan and Manzoor Anwar.

BODY FOUND: The police found body of unknown woman in Bisham on Monday.

Police officials told Dawn that they recovered body of a woman from the river bank in Shang area. The tehsil municipal administration buried the body in a local graveyard.

BOY ELECTROCUTED: A four-year-old boy was electrocuted in Shang area of Bisham. Residents said Fajar Abdul Qayyum was playing with other children near his home when he touched a naked wire which resulted in his death.

PRESIDING OFFICERS TAKE OATH: The district returning officer took oath from presiding officers, including women, at a ceremony in Alpuri on Monday.

A total of 135 presiding officers took oath of office, while the remaining 124 will take oath on Tuesday (today) in Puran. About 259 polling stations will be set up in the district for July 25 elections.
