RAWALPINDI: The Crown Prince of Jordan, Hassan Bin Talal, will marry a Pakistani girl shortly, it was officially stated here today [July 15].

The girl is Miss Sarvath Ikramullah, daughter of late Mr Mohammad Ikramullah and Begum Ikramullah. President Ayub has congratulated King Hussein, the Crown Prince, Begum Ikramullah and Miss Ikramullah on the engagement.

The official announcement said: “HRH Sharif Hussein Bin Nasser, the uncle of H.M. King Hussein of Jordan, arrived in Pakistan on Saturday, 13th July, with a special message for the President from H.M King Hussein seeking the consent and blessings of the President for the engagement. He called on the President in Rawalpindi on the same day.

“The President was very happy to convey his congratulations and best wishes to H.M. King Hussein of Jordan, H.R.H. the Crown Prince, Begum Ikramullah, Miss Ikramullah and the two families, on the auspicious occasion.

“The marriage will take place shortly”.
