SARGODHA: A woman allegedly murdered her husband and four children on Wednesday in Khushab district’s Jauharabad city, some 40 kilometres from here, and later turned herself in to police.

Gulnaz allegedly murdered her husband Ajmal, sons Fahad and Abdullah and daughters Ayesha and Asma with a hatchet at their Riaz Town residence. Later, she showered petals on the bodies and surrendered to police.

She told police that she killed her family due to their poor financial condition. She said her husband had shifted from his native village Jabi to Jauharabad town and failed to earn a livelihood hence she decided to relieve her family of poverty.

Police were of the view that Gulnaz could not kill all five family members by herself. They were investigating the incident.
