Shumaila slams century

LAHORE, June 2: A sparkling century by captain Shumaila Mushtaq helped Queen Mary College earn third position in the Punjab University women Inter-collegiate cricket championship beating Government College, Baghbanpura in a high scoring third position match by 13 runs on Thursday.

Shumaila scored 118 with 24 boundaries and two sixes as Queens piled up 168 for six in 20 overs. Aasma Afzal scored 17.

Baghbanpura college did their best through skipper Irum Bukhari, who scored 91 not out, but they fell short of 13 runs after a nail-biting finish. Irum cracked eight sixes and six fours.

Garrison Post Graduate College, Lahore Cantt and Punjab University Teaching Department will play the final on Friday.
