PESHAWAR: Tehreek-i-Jawanan Pakistan(TJP) has demanded of Election Commission of Pakistan to take notice of violation of its code of conduct and stop developmental works in different constituencies of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by the candidates of its rival political parties.

Addressing a news conference at Peshawar Press Club on Monday, TJP provincial president Irfan Alam said that ECP had imposed ban on initiation of any kind of development schemes but it failed to implement the decision.

He alleged that power transformers and pylons were supplied by the candidates to people in different constituencies. He said that development works were also carried out in various localities of the province. He urged ECP to take notice of the matter and ensure holding of elections in a transparent manner.

Flanked by TJP candidate for PK-66 Abbas Ali Shah, candidate for PK-67 Aurangzeb, candidate for PK-73 Hibat Khan, candidate for PK-76 Ali Mohammad Khan and candidate for PK-77 Tahir Khan, Mr Alam said that TJP would hold a public meeting on Dalazak Roadon July15. He said the rally would be addressed by TJP central and provincial leaders.

Mr Alam said that the country was faced with several internal and external challenges. He said that anti-state elements wanted to destabilise the country but they would not succeed in their nefarious designs. He said that TJP had fielded five candidates for National Assembly seats and 25 for provincial assembly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He said that no sincere efforts were made to eliminate poverty, corruption and unemployment in the country. He said that free education and healthcare were basic rights of every citizen. He said that the previous government got massive loans from foreign donors and put huge burden on the people. He said that only a sincere leadership could steer the country out of the prevailing crises.
