GUJRANWALA: Dhullay police registered a case against 32 PML-N activists, including two election candidates, over their alleged issuance of threats to policemen and interference in official work.

PML-N candidate for PP-57, Ashraf Ali Ansari, along with his supporters was returning from a corner meeting near Rajkot when police stopped him and attempted to check his car.

Ansari and his supporters got enraged and refused to comply, but police would not let them leave without checking their vehicle.

Later, Ashraf’s brother, Muhammad Younas Ansari, an aspirant from NA-82, along with his supporters reached there and after an exchange of harsh words both candidates and their supporters threatened police and refused to let them check the car. As soon as the workers allegedly started resorting to violence, police left from the spot.

A case was registered against Ashraf, Younas and 30 others on charges of threatening and interfering in official work. Police conducted a raid to arrest the suspects, but they could not be found.
