CHITRAL: All Pakistan Muslim League president Dr Amjad Chaudhry has said that retired Gen Pervez Musharraf will return to the country soon and will appear before Supreme Court of Pakistan to get permission to contest elections from Chitral.

Addressing a press conference here the other day, he said that his party had fielded more than 300 candidates throughout the country for the forthcoming general elections.

He said that APML would emerge victorious in the elections owing to the measures taken by its founder Pervez Musharraf when he was in power.

He said that revolutionary measures should be taken to uproot corruption, retrieve the looted public money and revisit foreign policy. He said that development in the country was made during the reign of Pervez Musharrafthat included initiation of talks with China on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), completion of Gwadar Port and the coastal highway.

Dr Amjad said that his party would take special measures for defence of the country against both the internal and external enemies. He said that his party would create an environment to attract foreign investors in large number.

The APML leader said that water scarcitywas a serious issue that was worsening day by day as India was violating the Indus Basin Water Treaty to make situation more difficult for Pakistan. He said that his party fielded more than 300 candidates throughout the country for the forthcoming general elections. He said that APML would emerge victorious due to the measures taken by its founder Pervez Musharraf for the people when he was in power.

He said that Pervez Musharraf would return to the country soon and would appear before Supreme Court of Pakistan to get permission for contesting elections from Chitral. He said that he would vacate the seat for him if he was elected.

Dr Amjad said that his party did not need to make electoral alliance with any other party in Chitral as he was sure of his success as the people loved Pervez Musharraf due to his contribution to the area.

The local leaders of the party Sultan Wazir, Sohrab Khan and Waqas Ahmed advocate were also present on the occasion.
