Port Qasim

KARACHI, June 2: Shipping activity remained brisk at the Port where three vessels scheduled to load, offload containers, rice and iron ore were arranged berthing at Qasim international container terminal. Meanwhile, two more vessels carrying containers and iron ore also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim the same period.

Berth occupancy was maintained on higher side at 78pc on Wednesday for 2nd consecutive at the Port. A total of eight vessels C.V Sealand Voyager, Contship Tamarind, Kuo Hung, Makran, Sea Crown, M.T Stolt Courage, British Unity and M.V Gao Zhou Hai are currently occupying berths to load, offload containers, rice, crude oil, seeds, chemicals and iron ore respectively during last 24 hour.

Cargo handling operation were carried out efficiently at the port where a cargo volume of 60,092 tons comprising 31,712 tons imports and 28,380 tons expert inclusive of conteneriesd cargo carried in 1,132 containers boxes was handled at the Port during the period.
