KARACHI: Making amends from the first two rounds, Akash Bashir of Lahore Garrison Golf Club (LGGC) posted best card of the day of one under 71 to win the junior pros Q-School trials by three shots at the Defence Authority Country and Golf Club on Thursday.
Bashir, who was two shots behind the overnight leader M Insaf of Multan when the third round commenced, showed his acumen after successive rounds of 76, 76 to turn the tide in his favour. His three rounds score stood at 223, seven over par.
The quartet of Bashir, Insaf, Kashif Masih and Eman Masih remained in the fray in the competition played over 54-holes.
Insaf shot four over 76 in the last round to slid to second place at 10 over par 226 as Kashif settled third at 231, eight shots off the pace.
