Four booked for water theft

MIRPURKHAS, June 1: Four landlords including a councillor, were booked by Samaro police, for stealing irrigation water. Noor Mohammad Khoso, the Darogha of Nabisar Wah of sub-division Kunri, lodged a case at the Samaro police station under sections 430 PPC, alleging that landlords, councillor of the UC Samaro Haji Sohbat Dhonkai, Aijaz Punjabi, Rais Abu Bakar Bhurgari and Anwar Rahimoon were involved in water theft by tempering with the watercourse.

DARKNESS: Umerkot Town and around one dozen villages plunged into darkness as power supply remained suspended from the Umerkot power grid station.

A powerful explosion took place in the station, disconnecting power supply from 66 KV grid station to Umerkot town, Sufi Faqeer, Chore, Raja Rasti, Walidad Palli, Rana Jagir, Haider Farm, Mandhal and other villages.

The blast occurred due to power overload. Hesco employees reached on the site to repair it.
