Tehsil Nazim’s bail cancelled

HARIPUR, June 1: A local court cancelled the bail of Haripur tehsil nazim in an attempt to murder case and remanded him to judicial custody on Tuesday. On May 13, complainant Malik Khan Afsar and Arshad were shot at and injured and they lodged an FIR against the nazim, Iftikhar Ahmad Khan, Mazhar Hayat Khan and their unidentified accomplice.

Accused Iftikhar obtained bail before arrest from the court of additional district and sessions judge (ADJ), Haripur, Mohammad Yusuf Khan.

The ADJ after hearing the complainant side cancelled the bail granted to the tehsil nazim who was arrested from the courtroom and sent to jail.

It may be mentioned here that complainant Malik Khan is also charged with an attempt on the life of the tehsil nazim who had sustained injuries in the attack. An FIR was registered against him in August last year.

RESCUE 15: IGP Riffat Pasha laid the foundation-stone of the office building of Rescue 15 here on Tuesday.

DIG Hazara Rao Amin Hashim, DPO Haripur Raja Naseer Khan, officials and local government representatives were present on this occasion. The IGP expressed hope that Rescue 15 would control crimes in the district in an effective manner.
