SIALKOT, June 1: Six armed men on Wednesday kidnapped four family members, including a woman, over a love-marriage issue in Kishangarh-Begowala village, Daska tehsil. In the FIR, Nasreen Bibi said that her brother had contracted marriage with Sonia of Banott village against the consent of her parents. She alleged that six people, including Muhammad Iqbal, Zahur and Khalil alias Kheela, barged into the house and took away Sonia, her husband Mast Ali, father-in-law Muhammad Shafi and brother-in-law Zulfiqar Babar at gunpoint.

STRIKE: Daska traders have announced to go on a strike, besides, staging sit-in from Thursday (today) to protest against the sealing of a shopping plaza by the Auqaaf department.

At a meeting of Markazi Anjuman Tajran, presided over by Mian Muhammad Ashraf, the traders demanded that the plaza be unsealed immediately, as the affected shopkeepers wee ready to pay their monthly rent to the department.

The department announced that the plaza would be unsealed only if Rs2.5 million dues were paid by the allottees.

looted: A gang of six dacoits took away gold ornaments, cash, electronics and other valuables worth Rs600,000 at gunpoint from six houses here on Tuesday night at Rattiyan Syedan, Muradpur.

Reports said the gangsters stormed into the houses of Jaffar Husain, Dilbar Husain Shah, Kazim Husain, Abid Husain, Sibt Abbas and Muhammad Akhtar and took away the valuables.

The Muradpur police are investigating.

Later, the people protested against the robberies and demanded immediate arrest of gangsters.

Meanwhile, three dacoits took away a motorcycle (LHX-6529) at gunpoint from general councillor Masood Ahmad of Heerkey village on Wednesday.
