PESHAWAR, June 1: On the call of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal’s chief Qazi Hussain Ahmed, Jamaat-i-Islami and its youth wing Shabab-i-Milli held a demonstration here on Wednesday to protest against terrorist acts in Karachi. MMA MNAs Shabbir Ahmad Khan and Sabir Hussain Awan led the procession in which hundreds of JI and Shabab-i-Milli activists took part. It started from Nishtarabad and passed through the main G.T Road and various bazaars before culminating at Chowk Yadgar where leaders made speeches.

The protesters waved placards and chanted slogans accusing the Sindh government and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement of involvement in the killing of JI’s Karachi deputy Amir Aslam Mujahid.

Speakers said the government and its allied parties were promoting terrorism in Karachi.

They said the MQM had always tried to eliminate the Jamaat but it had failed in its designs.

The MQM, they said, had always unleashed terror against its opponents.

They demanded that the federal government should arrest those involved in the acts of terrorism and award exemplary punishment to them.
