KARACHI: A young man was shot dead over ‘love marriage’ in a locality off Superhighway on Monday, according to SITE Superhighway Industrial police.

A police official said that Hamza Siddiq Abbasi, 23, was gunned down inside his home in Faqira Goth.

The victim had married a woman named Saira around one year ago. It was a free-will marriage. Subsequently, he shifted to his native area near Shahdadkot and recently returned to Karachi on the “persuasion” of the girl’s relatives who allegedly killed him on Monday and fled.

The police officer said that one suspect has been identified by the victim’s relatives, however, FIR was not registered till filing of this report.
