SHANGLA: Pakistan Peoples Party and Qaumi Watan Party’s local chapters on Tuesday reached an agreement for seats adjustment of two provincial assembly constituencies of PK-23, Shangla-I, and PK-24, Shangla-II, here on Tuesday.

PPP Malakand division president Dr Afsarul Mulk and QWP district chairman Dr Sajjad Ahmed after consultation here reached seats adjustment in the two constituencies. However, the agreement will not be applicable to NA-10.

The leaders of two parties said that they had decided that PPP would support QWP candidate in PK-24 and QWP would support PPP candidate in PK-23.

Agreement made for PK-23, PK-24

“The vote bank of both parties has increased in Shangla. Candidates of both parties would defeat their rival candidates in the coming election,” Mr Ahmed claimed. He said that he would hold talks with independent candidates in PK-24 to support QWP.

Mr Mulk said that the PPP candidate had obtained about 8,000 votes in PK-23 in 2013 elections and now after seats adjustment with QWP its vote bank would increase. Various political parties in the district are striving for seat adjustment.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf has again changed its candidate for NA-10 and this time awarded the ticket to Waqar Ahmed Khan.

The PTI parliamentary board had first awarded the ticket to Nawaz Mehmood. At last, the ticket was awarded to Waqar Ahmed and sweets were distributed in various parts of the district by PTI workers.
