ATTOCK: District returning officer on Monday asked former federal minister Sheikh Aftab Ahmad of PML-N and Tahir Sadiq of PTI, both contesting election from NA-55, to remove large size banners they had displayed in violation of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) orders.

In response to the directives, the candidates assured the district returning officer that they would remove illegal hoardings, billboards and panaflexes from the constituency by June 27.

The ECP has fixed size of hoardings, billboards and panaflexes. The candidates were summoned by the district returning officer on the complaints of people seeking removal of large size hoardings, billboards and panaflexes. Next date of hearing is June 28.

The RO warned the candidates that if they did not comply with his orders, they might be disqualified.
