JI workers’ clash leaves one dead in Mohmand

GHALANAI: One person was killed and three others were injured as participants of a Jamaat-i-Islami rally pelted stones at one another while returning from a party gathering in Soran Dara area of Baizai tehsil of Mohmand on Wednesday.

Local residents said Malik Rehman Gul and Ghafoor Khan, the JI activists, brawled with each other after a party’s corner meeting.

Afterwards the supporters of the two leaders started pelting stones at one another. In the melee, one Araf Shah was killed while three others, including Rehman Gul, Gulistan Khan and Ghafoor Khan, received injuries. The injured were shifted to a hospital in Bajaur.

After the incident, officials of the local administration rushed to the spot, arrested one Zewar Khan and shifted him to the Ghalanai lockup for investigation.

Act of shame and disgrace. Both the groups must be ousted from the party for taking arms against each other. The murderers should be punished too after being caught by the authorities.

How embarrassing. Workers of JI killed a human being. I know there is no one in JI who would have the courage to say this was done by JI workers. What kind of society do they want to see in Pakistan?. I am ashamed to be a Pakistani and these people are making a mockery of our beautiful religion. I have never seen or heard of a more intolerant society anywhere in the world.
