LAHORE, May 30: MMA President and Jamaat-i-Islami Amir Qazi Husain Ahmad has advised the government to have the APHC leaders’ visit to Pakistan delayed till all Kashmiri leaders and Syed Ali Geelani had the same viewpoint. In a press statement here on Monday, he said the government should act as a bridge between the two sides to synchronise their positions. A visit paid after harmony of thought between the two sides would help the world better understand the stance of the Muslims of held Kashmir.
The MMA chief said the visit of the APHC leaders at a time when Syed Ali Geelani had refused to accept the invitation, would serve to divide the Kashmiri leaders and damage the freedom struggle.
Qazi said Islamabad should deliberate upon the reasons that forced Geelani not to come to Pakistan.
He said the role of Geelani in the freedom struggle was very clear as he had been fighting for the self-determination right and Islamic identity of the Kashmiri people for the past 57 years.
If the APHC leaders went ahead with the visit giving no importance to the decision of Geelani, Qazi warned, people of Pakistan and Kashmir would term it conspiracy aimed at putting the Kashmir dispute on the back-burner.
Meanwhile, Qazi Husain Ahmad condemned Gen Musharraf’s ‘baseless’ accusations against Iran’s nuclear programme and said it looked as if Musharraf had become a US “approver” against Iran. He said such statements were a well thoughtout conspiracy to damage Pakistan’s relations with Iran to please Washington.
Qazi said Gen Musharraf first repeated US-sponsored accusations against Dr Qadeer Khan to arrest and punish him, and now, again at the behest of the same country, he was accusing Iran of trying to produce nuclear
arms.
MURDER: Qazi Husain Ahmad has expressed deep sense of grief and sorrow over the cold blooded murder of Karachi JI naib amir Aslam Mujahid.
In a statement here, he alleged that a group under the direct protection of the Governor’s House had unleashed a reign of terror in Karachi.
Qazi directed the Jamaat workers not to react and avoid taking the law into their hands.
The JI leader paid rich tributes to Mr Mujahid for his religious and political services. He said the JI leader had been receiving threats for the past couple of days from various people.
