Bureaucracy

Published June 19, 2018

IT is quite unfortunate that our bureaucracy, instead of being loyal to the state and its institutions for the effective delivery of the system, remains loyal to the interests of politicians in power. When the bureaucracy of a country becomes part of the ruling parties’ whims, country’s interests are hurt.

It is time our bureaucracy started being loyal to the State and its institutions and did those things which are in the larger interest of the country. Since our politicians remains in power for a five-year term, they, set their own agenda and are selective in their approach; the bureaucracy, on the other hand, works as a permanent machinery (normally, a bureaucrat serves for more than 30 years), and, therefore, it should be completely impartial without illegally pleasing its ruling masters.
