KARACHI: Imran Mushtaq Academy scored a convincing five-wicket win over Sindh Police to lift Danish Ramazan Cricket Trophy here on Thursday. The event was held under the auspices of Karachi Sports Forum.

Sindh Police, after winning the toss, batted first at the KGA Gymkhana ground to score 141 for 7 in the stipulated 20 overs with Nooruddin (52) emerging as top-scorer. He scored his runs off just 33 balls with the help of two sixes and six fours. Zakir ali was also in fine form and made a fluent 48 off 41 balls.

For Imran Mushtaq Academy, Iqbal Zahid was the pick of the bowlers, capturing 3 for 19 in four overs while Hannan Khan and Tajuddin bagged two wickets each.

In reply, Imran Mushtaq Academy reached the target in 17.4 overs for the loss of five wickets. Kashif Iqbal scorec a brilliant 57 off just 29 balls while Ijaz Shah scored 32 to steer their team to victory. Farooq Hasan of Sindh Police bowled well to capture two wickets for 31 runs in his four overs.

Kashif Iqbal was named Man of the Match. Sajjad Rasheed was named the best bowler of the event while Mubasshir Ahmed was declared best wicketkeeper. Vinod Ramesh was declared Player of the Tournament.

President Tapal Cricket Club, Asif Azeem was the chief guest on the occasion and distributed the prizes. He lauded the organisers for holding the Trophy for the 23rd successive year. Also present on the occasion were FPS sports manager Murad Hussain, sports officials Mohammad Nasir, Imran Zaman and tournament organiser Abbas Nawaz.
