Kaisi Aurat Hoon Main | Hum TV, Wednesdays 8.00pm

Cookery show star, wonderful wife and bahu Maham (Nadia Khan) has a booming career, but her greedy and chauvinistic husband Moiz (Faisal Rehman), who is deeply complexed about her rise to fame, demoralises her on the one hand and dominates her on the other. He is also a package deal with a taaweez-toting mother. Of course, Maham is in denial about it.

Faisal Rehman seems fond of playing the antagonist these days (Gumrah) just as Nadia Khan is playing the victimised woman, which doesn’t match her assertive, real-life persona at all, hence her expressions seem overcooked. Fahim Burney is working again with most of his recently concluded Aadhi Gawahi team, some of them in similar roles.

Ali Josh plays Taimoor a young tycoon, possibly the protagonist. There is Ruhi Bano playing the bad saas (Moiz’s mother) and Marium Shafi (Maham’s mother) as though they stepped out of Aadhi Gawahi and straight into Kaisi Aurat Hoon Main. All eyes on Saniya Shamshad who has yet to appear as the vamp, more so after her successful title role in Piyari Bitto.

Ghar Titli Ka Par | Geo TV, Thursdays 8.10pm

Anji (Sanam Chaudhry), the jealous and cunning soul of the serial, is back to destroy Shafaq’s (Aiman Khan) happily-married life.

At her wily best, she succeeds in sowing the seeds of discord between Shafaq’s husband Aazhar (Shehzad Sheikh) and Shafaq while cultivating a sweet and caring relationship with him and treating her own caring husband Aftab (Ali Ansari) like dirt. In the absence of Shafaq, who is visiting her parents out of city, Anji manages to dig her sharp claws deep into Aazhar.

What To Watch Out For

Lashkara | ARY, Sundays 11.00pm

After watching this serial, you get the feeling that the writer, director and actors are also enjoying every crisp and fresh moment as much as the viewers. Writer Zafar Mairaj’s rich characters, hilarious lines and pacey story has us glued to the telly.

Mairaj and Kashif Nisar (director) deliver one of the sweetest romances between Feeka (Mohsin Abbas Haider) and Bubbly (Ushna Shah) especially the rom-com wedding night scene when Feeka shows Bubbly all the mementos he has kept from their childhood. The trio of Imran Aslam (Sunny), Ushna Shah and Mohsin Abbas Haider are electric in their roles. Bubbly and Feeka are now married and in love but broken-hearted Sunny may be hatching a revenge plan.
