HYDERABAD, May 29: Employees of the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited continued their strike on Sunday in protest against privatization of the company and for acceptance of their demands. According to Shakeel Ahmed Khan, a leader of union’s action committee, negotiations are also underway between the management and central leaders of the action committee.
He said workers wanted job security as they were afraid of their retrenchment in case the PTCL was privatized.
He said workers would continue their strike till outcome of successful negotiations.
MITHI: Telephone exchanges in Tharparkar district remained closed on the fourth consecutive day in protest against privatization of the company.
PTCL employees closed telephone exchanges in Mithi, Islamkot, Dano Dhandhal, Nagarparkar, Diplo, Kantio, Chelhar, Chhachhro, Udani and Khainsar towns.
BADIN: PTCL employees in different towns of the district observed strike to protest against privatisation of the company.
KHAIRPUR: PTCL employees in the district continued their strike against privatisation of PTCL on fourth day of the protest.
No employee attended the office and the PTCL offices remained locked.
Since the strike, hundreds of telephones lines rendered out of order.
NAWABSHAH: The PTCL union action committee continued their strike in protest against privatisation of the company.
All the exchanges and offices remained closed.
