LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau on Thursday summoned four members of the Lahore Waste Management Company’s board of directors, including a former PML-N MPA and an ex-minister, in a corruption case.

The NAB on Thursday issued notices to the LWMC BoD members — former MPA Mehr Ishtiaq, Nasir Javed, former provincial minister Khwaja Salman Rafique, Nadeem Babar and former adviser to the chief minister Khwaja Ahmad Hassaan — to appear before a combined investigation team of the bureau’s Lahore office on June 11, 12, 13 and 20, respectively.

The NAB has also summoned planning and development board chairman Jehanzeb Khan in the Punjab Power Development Company corruption case for June 9.

It also directed former chairman of P&D board, Mr Irfan Elahi, in connection with the Quaid-e-Azam Thermal Power Company affairs on June 9 at its Thokar Niaz Baig office.

In the PPDC corruption probe, the NAB may re-summon PML-N president Shahbaz Sharif’s son-in-law, Imran Ali Yousaf, who failed to show up at his third consecutive appearance at the bureau last month.

“On the statement of Ikram Naveed, former chief executive officer of the PPDC, Mr Jehanzeb is summoned by NAB,” an official told Dawn.

Imran Ali is accused of receiving Rs120million from Ikram Naveed.

The NAB had launched an investigation in November last into the affairs of 56 public companies.
