ISLAMABAD, May 28: Information and Broadcasting Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Saturday expressed the hope that those behind the bomb explosion at Bari Imam shrine would be arrested soon as the investigation was heading in the right direction.

Talking to journalists here, he said all the investigating agencies concerned were looking into the case and experts were carrying out the probe. “Our police and all the investigating agencies are heading in the right direction and looking for the reasons” of the explosion, he said.

He said the law-enforcement agencies had issued the picture of the suicide bomber and anyone giving information about him would be given a reward of Rs500,000.

He termed the statement of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal leader Qazi Hussain Ahmed alleging that the government was involved in the incident regrettable.

SHERPAO: Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao said during a visit to the site of the blast that it was a dastardly act of terrorism and its perpetrators would be caught and punished.

He offered condolence at the loss of innocent lives and said the government was making every possible effort to avoid recurrence of such incidents.

Mr Sherpao said the head and some other body parts of the bomber had been found and the investigation committee was proceeding ahead with the help of evidence collected from the site.

REWARD: The Minister of State for Interior Dr Shahzad Waseem of state told PTV that Rs2 million would be paid to the person providing credible information leading to detection of the terrorist network involved in the attack.—-APP
