BATTAGRAM: Four children of a family drowned in Bada Road canal near Biari village of Allai tehsil here on Monday.

According to Banna police, several children were bathing in the canal when four of them drowned. Hearing cries of the children some villagers rushed to the site and fished them out.

The villagers said the children were taken to the tehsil headquarters hospital, Allai, in unconscious condition where doctors proclaimed them dead.

The deceased children were identified as six-year-old Arsalan, nine-year-old Salma, nine-year-old Amna and eight-year-old Haseena.

In another incident, and a man his son drowned in Indus River in Thakot area moments before Iftar on Sunday.

The Chanjal police named the victims Sher Alam and his son, Ehtesham. The locals rushed to the scene and started search for the bodies but did not find the victims.
