PESHAWAR: Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s visit to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday (today) has been cancelled. He was scheduled to visit Peshawar, Nowshera, Mardan and Swabi districts to participate in iftar dinners and address meetings of workers, lawyers and journalists in different areas.

PPP provincial deputy secretary information Gohar Khan Inqilabi told Dawn that the four-day visit of PPP chairman had been finalised but it was cancelled with the announcement of the schedule for general elections, 2018.

He said Bilawal’s visit was major activity in the province during the month of Ramazan to mobilise workers for the next elections. However, it was cancelled as the party’s parliamentary board would finalise lists of the poll candidates.

The candidates’ selection, he said would probably be completed by May 6, adding the candidates would be fielded in all the constituencies across the province.
