ISLAMABAD: Rejecting Indian protests against the Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Order 2018 and its claim over India-held Kashmir (IHK), Pakistan on Sunday said that baseless Indian propaganda about GB could not cover up the atrocities being perpetrated by Indian forces against innocent and unarmed Kashmiris, nor could it succeed in diverting the attention of the international community from the deplorable situation in India-held Kashmir.
“The government of Pakistan categorically rejects India’s protest against the Gilgit-Baltistan Order 2018 and its claim over the Indian occupied state of Jammu and Kashmir as an ‘integral part’ of India,” read a statement issued by Foreign Office Spokesman Dr Muhammad Faisal on Sunday.
The statement said that everything from history to law to morality to the situation on the ground belies India’s spurious claim.
Dr Faisal claimed that the entire state of Jammu and Kashmir was a “disputed” territory. He said that the disputed status was enshrined in the relevant United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions, which stipulated that the final status of Jammu and Kashmir would be determined through the democratic method of a free and impartial plebiscite administered by the UN.
These resolutions, he said, pledging the right to self-determination of the people of Kashmir, were accepted by India, Pakistan and the international community.
“Instead of making frivolous protests and issuing legally untenable and uncalled for statements, India should take steps to vacate its illegal occupation and create the conditions for faithful implementation of the UNSC resolutions, so that this long-standing dispute between India and Pakistan is peacefully resolved in accordance with the wishes of the Kashmiri people,” said the FO.

Kashmir is right wing of Pakistan. Kashmiries never liked to live with India. The proof is that Kashmiries are fighting against Indian forces from the last 70 years. While I have never heard any single Kashmiri had fought with paksitani forces in these 70 years

Lets look at this issue objectively. The vast majority of people who live in Indian occupied Kashmir are sick of india because the indian army has a disgusting history of oppression, sexual assault, torture and killings. Everyday, there are protests to separate. Indian occupied Kashmir is not stable in the least and the people there want nothing to do with india. Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir on the other hand are completely stable. When is the last time you heard of sexual assault, killings or torture in this areas instigated by the Pakistani state on the civilians? People in GB and Azad K are happy in Pakistan. The same cannot be said of india. So my request to all indians is the following; please look at this issue objectively. just like you were oppressed by the british and fought for independece so too are kashmiri's wanting independence from you. It is ironic that the same people who were enslaved in the past are now doing what they so passionately fought against.

Both countries know that they cannot get an inch of the others' territory since both are nuclear states. The leaders of both countries need to stop lying to their people & come up with a realistic solution keeping in mind that borders cannot be redrawn under any circumstances. Otherwise we can keep living in denial & delusional till eternity.

I donot dream of greater India, I am happy with my India. Soft boarder between two Kashmir is the only solution. Both the nation must ensure and guaranty the preservation of cultural identity of the original Kashmiri irrespective of their religion. All the national programmes should have special Kashmir quota. As an Assamese Indian I understand the fear of losing identity in the hand of majoriy. Only way is to make one self strong enough to rise above such fear. You have to perform actively in all forum, if you are a minority. Make your position felt in education, sports, literature, higher post in administration. One such example is State of Manipur in our land. Without Manipuri player Indian sport is incomplete. This success of the state in sports has totally subdued the call for separation. None gave them this story of success , they made it possible. In today's world you cannot escape from fear of identity lose. Asking for separation is like running away from the life, you have lost the battle of equality. You have to separate from religion than from language than community than clan ...how far? In this process may someone mighty will eat you up, then?
