SARGODHA: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has promoted politics of hatred and spread chaos in society besides making all-out efforts to sabotage development projects initiated by the present regime, but people rejected his politics.

This was stated by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday while addressing a public gathering at the sports stadium some 34 kilometres from here.

Shahbaz said people had rejected the politics of hollow slogans and filthy language as they realised that the parties resorting to these had no development programmes in their manifesto. They did nothing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last five years, so what could one expect from them in 100 days.

He added that the present government, despite facing hardships through allegedly biased accountability inquiries and negative politics of Imran Khan, had completed various development projects. He claimed that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will change the fate of the nation and it was a big achievement of Nawaz Sharif.

The chief minister earlier inaugurated the 2,100-foot-long Langarwala bridge over Jhelum river connecting Sargodha and Khushab districts that is likely to benefit 2.7 million people of the two sides.

He also claimed that the Punjab government is set to empower two million unemployed youths across the province, enabling them to earn their livelihood honourably. The government extended interest-free loans worth Rs40 billion to people indiscriminately. He said the Punjab Education Endowment Fund scholarships worth Rs17 billion had been distributed among 3.5 million deserving, needy and brilliant students.

Shahbaz said that if his party formed the government again, they would establish state-of-the-art hospitals equipped with latest gadgets in all districts of Punjab and also ensure provision of free treatment.
