LARKANA: A doctor and a woman operating a vocational training centre in Banguldro town were arrested after a girl lodged a complaint at the Lashari police station on Sunday stating that they had taken her to Karachi on the pretext of medical treatment and the doctor subjected her to criminal assault at his clinic upon their return to the town.

The alleged victim told police that she was a trainee at the centre and had an eyesight problem. She said the doctor, who was associated with the NGO that ran the centre, in connivance with the woman, who managed the institute, advised her to accompany them to Karachi for treatment but her parents did not give their consent to the proposed visit. She said both the persons met her parents and persuaded them to agree on it.

She claimed that on their return from Karachi, the doctor gave her some pills and injection at his clinic which caused her to fall into a semi-unconscious state. The doctor then subjected her to criminal assault and made a video of the episode which he used to prevent her from disclosing his act to anyone else, she alleged.

An FIR (No.13/2018) was registered against the doctor and vocational centre manager under sections 376, 337-J, 354A and 506/2 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) before they were arrested.
