ISLAMABAD: Around 2,000 security personnel, including policemen and private security guards, will perform duties around worship places during Ramazan.

The security arrangements shall be supervised by superintendents of police while subdivisional police officers and SHOs would conduct security checking during prayer timings, said the police on Tuesday.

More personnel have been called from Police Line Headquarters and sent to the police stations to ensure security in worship places and markets.

Mosque committees would not allow any stranger or outsider to stay in the worship places.

Police stations have been directed to coordinate with office-bearers of traders’ unions in their respective areas to ensure effective security in the markets.

A special drive against professional beggars would be launched and they would not be allowed to gather outside any worship place.

Police officials have been directed to carry out special checking of hotels, motels, inns and guest houses while property dealers would furnish records of tenants to the SHOs of their respective areas.

Moreover, checking at the exit and entry points of the city would be intensified without causing any inconvenience to the citizens.

Patrolling teams of the police, Rangers and Muhafiz Squad would also remain on alert.
