LAHORE: Light rain in many parts of the country turned the weather pleasant in Lahore and many other cities on Tuesday.
It was refreshing but there was a downside too; it tripped power feeders, leaving many localities without electricity for hours.
Earlier, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) had issued press release stating a westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist during next three to four days. Rain-thundershowers with gusty winds is expected at scattered places in KP, FATA, Islamabad, Upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore divisions) Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan while at isolated places northeast-Balochistan, central/southern Punjab (Multan, Bahawalpur, DG Khan, Sahiwal and Faisalabad divisions).
There is a high risk of landslides in mountainous and sub mountainous areas of KP, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan and isolated events of hailstorm are also likely during the period.
