KARACHI: Karachi Gym­khana Veterans won a festival match against Omar Associates Veterans by 42 runs here at the Karachi Gymkhana Ground on Sunday.

Karachi Gymkhana batted first and were bundled out for 184 in the final over of the stipulated twenty five overs. Azhar Khan scored 52 off 41 balls. Asim Ansari scored 21.

Left arm leg-spinner Fawad Ijaz Khan bowled brilliantly and took the last five wickets for 29 runs in his four-over spell.

Batting second, Omar Associates were bowled out for 142. Nadeem Omar, captain of Omar Associates and President Elect of KCCA, topscored with 20 off 22 balls and Fayyaz Ahmed also scored 20 runs.

For KG Veterans, Nadeem Dalia and Shaharyar took three wickets each for 30 and 31 runs respectively.

Fawad Ijaz Khan was declared man of the match while Azher Khan was declared the best batsman and Nadeem Dalia the best bowler.
