GUJRAT, May 24: Police have failed to identify the remaining three accused who along with Kharian tehsil Nazim Nadeem Asghar Kaira attacked the Cantt police station last month. Cantonment police registered a case against Nazim Nadeem Kaira, Naveed Zaman Kaira, Raza Mohyuddin, Ghulam Dastgir and seven unidentified men on the complaint of its SHO Ghulam Jaffar Cheena.

According to the FIR, the accused attacked the police station and severely beat up the SHO to release PPP office-bearer Zia Mohyuddin. Later, police nominated four men, including Shahzad, Babar, Zafar and councillor Basharat, in supplementary FIR.

An anti-terrorism court has declared Nadeem Kaira as a court absconder on April 28. The other nominated accused had been granted bails by an ATC.

Police sources claimed that the investigators were taking no interest in identifying the remaining three unidentified accused that are enjoying liberty even after 40 days of the incident.

BODY FOUND: Lalamusa Saddar police claimed on Tuesday to have recovered the body of a teenaged girl from Chokorry Sher Ghazi Road.
