GUJRAT: Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has termed Imran Khan an extension of Nawaz Sharif, saying both are peddling the same ideology of serving their personal interests and they want to get power for their personal gains which shows they are doing politics only for themselves.

“However, my politics is the politics of masses and I will continue to adhere to the Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s ideology that the masses are the only source of power. It is PPP that has always pursued the ideology of commoner and my politics is the politics of democracy and federation,” he said while addressing the participants in party’s membership camps in Mangat and Gojra areas of Mandi Bahauddin district, some 100-km from here on Monday.

Punjab PPP president Qamar Zaman Kaira, ex MPA Asif Basheer Bhagat, Gujranwala division president Dewan Shamim Akhtar and others were also present at the occasion.

He questioned Nawaz Sharif if aliens would help him (Nawaz) then they (aliens) are very good and also asked Imran Khan to tell the masses about the performance of his party’s government in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa.

Says he will continue to cement his bond with masses

Bilawal said PPP had never done the politics of power and [whenever] his grandfather Zulfikar Ali Bhutto put a hand on anyone, he became a leader but at the same time whosoever deserted the PPP, he was reduced to a dummy.

He said PPP had never disappointed the masses and he too could not live without the masses and would continue to cement his bond with the people following in the footsteps of ZAB and Benazir Bhutto.

“I assure you, I will follow the manifesto of public interest and the stipend in Benazir Income Support Programme will be doubled whereas farmers will be given interest-free loans for purchase of fertilisers, agricultural machinery and other such facilities if his party is voted to power,” he said and asked the party workers to reach each and every house and village by carrying the party flag and manifesto.

He said the PML N government had failed to fulfil its commitments with the masses as agricultural policy had crushed the farmers whereas power loadshedding could not be ended in five years. He said the slogans of prosperity turned out a pack of lies.

Bilawal said: “I am to rebuild the party and [I’m] quite sure that people will extend their support to my cause of pursuing the policies for the betterment of masses.”

Earlier, speaking to the participants in Mangat, Kaira [referring to the statements of Nawaz] said who had been disgracing the power of votes throughout his life, is now talking of the sanctity of vote. “One brother is talking against the army and the other one is begging as Nawaz Sharif wants to pit institutions against the masses.”

“Imran Khan talks about eliminating corruption but on the other hand the PTI had removed the head of its accountability cell in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” Kaira said.
