LAHORE: The West Pakistan Governor, Mr Mohammad Musa [April 29], today ordered the Police not to relax unless and until each and every suspected Goonda was arrested in Lahore.
In a directive to the Inspector-General of Police, West Pakistan, this afternoon the Governor directed the Police to immediately intensify its drive against anti-social elements in the city. The Governor issued this directive as a sequel to a murder committed in the Lahore District Courts premises this morning.
A young man, Abdul Hameed alias Hameeda, a witness in taxi-driver Arif Shah’s murder case, was brutally murdered in broad daylight allegedly by Mian Khurshid Aslam and Maula Gujjar and their accomplices.
After the murder a deputation of citizens of Lahore marched in a procession to the Governor’s House to bring this sad incident to the notice of the Governor. Governor Musa directed the Commissioner of Lahore division and the Inspector-General of Police to immediately start inquiry into the case and make all-out efforts to bring the culprits to book.
The Lahore police today conducted a number of raids in various places of the city in search of the alleged murderers and arrested two of them.
