KARACHI, May 23: Three vessels carrying containers, diesel oil and iron ore were berthed at QICT, Fotco Terminal and IOCB during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Monday.

Meanwhile, another vessel with edible oil also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy was maintained at 67 per cent as seven vessels, Maersk Alaska, Pacific Senator, San Clemente, Iran Gheyamat, Gemini, Al-Maqwa and Nikos-O, were busy in loading/offloading containers, sulphur, edible oil, diesel oil and iron ore.

Cargo handling was brisk totalling 86,058 tons comprising 77,167 tons of import cargo including 44,010 tons of edible oil and 11,930 tons of iron ore and 8,891 tons of export tonnage was handled. Sailing was also active as Maersk Alaska, Pacific Senator and Gemini left the port while San Clemente was due to depart.

Four vessels, Sea Land Independence, Rosa-M, Jo Gran and Shima Kaze, were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage. While Gao Zhou Hai and Anette Kosan, carrying chemicals and iron ore, were due to arrive at port.
