LAHORE: Punjab has doubled its subsidy on DAP fertilizer, increasing it from Rs150 to Rs300 per bag to offset the impact of dollar exchange rate on imported fertilizer prices.

Agriculture Secretary Muhammad Mahmood said the subsidy would also be available on all phosphoric urea fertilisers.

He said the rate of general sales tax (GST) on DAP would also remain unchanged to help maintain farm input prices.

He said the government was supplying approved varieties of cotton seed at up to 50 per cent subsidised rate and also providing subsidy voucher of Rs700 per cotton bag in core cotton growing areas.
